Application
(1) AC motor speed regulation can be realized by frequency converter. As the frequency converter can be regarded as an AC power supply with adjustable frequency, for the existing motor running at constant speed, as long as the frequency converter and the corresponding equipment are connected between the power supply and the motor, the motor speed control can be realized, without the need to transform the motor and the system.
(2) with a wide range of speed and high speed accuracy. The speed range of general purpose frequency converter can reach more than 1:10, and the speed range of high-performance vector frequency converter can reach 1:1000. Moreover, the output torque of the motor can be controlled when the frequency converter with vector control mode is used for speed control of the asynchronous motor.
(3) It can reduce the starting current of the motor. When the motor frequency power supply is started directly, the starting current is 4 to 7 times the rated current. This current will greatly increase the electrical stress of the motor winding and generate heat, thus reducing the service life of the motor. When the frequency converter adjusts the speed, it can start from zero speed and zero voltage and accelerate according to the law of slope function, thus limiting the starting current of the motor.
(4) Can achieve high speed, high voltage, high current control. At present, the output frequency of the high-frequency frequency converter can reach 300OKHz. When the two-pole asynchronous motor is driven by this high-speed frequency converter, a high speed of 180000 RPM can be obtained. With the continuous development of frequency conversion technology, the output frequency of high frequency converter is also improving. High speed drive is also an important advantage of frequency converter speed control.
