VFD power values are very suitable for motor power values to facilitate VFD operation at high efficiency values.

When the power rating of the VFD is not the same as the power rating of the motor, the power of the VFD should be as close as possible to the power of the motor, but should be slightly greater than the power of the motor.

 

When the motor is frequently started, start-up or in heavy load starting and working more frequently, a large VFD can be selected to apply VFD for long-term and safe operation.

 

After testing, the theoretical power of the motor does have a surplus, and you can consider selecting a VFD with a power less than the motor power, but pay attention to whether the instantaneous peak current will constitute an overcurrent maintenance action.

When the VFD and motor power are not the same, it is necessary to adjust the setting of the energy-saving program accordingly to achieve a higher energy-saving effect.
